Os traigo la parte 2.2. de la segunda parte de las preguntas que Jennifer L. Armentrout respondió a los fans en Goodreads hace unos meses y que las encantadoras administradoras de The Luxen Army tuvieron la generosidad de reunir y compartir con todos los fans.
Como he venido haciendo últimamente, os las he ido traduciendo, así que hoy os dejo esa parte 2.2 y pronto -en cuanto pueda- os traeré la parte 2.3 -la última parte, asumo-

Fan: What’s your favorite show right now?
JLA: Walking Dead.
Fan: ¿Cuál es tu show favorito ahora mismo?
JLA: The Walking Dead.
Fan: Do you knw who the cover model for Cam is on for the
Wait for You and Trust in Me covers?
JLA: I don’t know who that guys
is, but he is hot.
Fan: ¿Sabes quién es el modelo que hace de Cam en
las portadas de Wait for you y Trust in Me?
JLA: No sé quién es este chico, pero es sexy.
Fan: What inspired you to become an author? Where do you
get all your ideas from?
JLA:I’ve always wanted to be an
author, mainly because I can put an overactive imagination to good use.
Fan: ¿Qué te inspire para ser una escritora? ¿De
dónde sacas todas tus ideas?
JLA: Siempre he querido ser escritora,
principalmente porque tengo una imaginación hiperactiva a la que puedo dar uso.
Fan: How do you decide if a book is going to be YA or NA?
JLA: Depends on what the
characters are facing in the book. If there’s a coming of age themes, a certain
age, etc determines if it’s NA or Adult.
Fan: ¿Cómo decides que un libro vaya a ser YA o
NA?
JLA: Depende de a lo que los personajes
principales tendrán que hacer frente en el libro. Si habrá un tema definido por
edad, una edad determinada, etc., eso determina si será NA o para adultos.
Fan: Thanks for clarifying your names. So you are Jennifer
Armentrout/J.Lynn and NOT Jennifer Armintrout/ Jenny Trout/ Abigail Barnette.
The world of author names gets so confusing!
JLA: Haha it’s okay. Yes. I’m
Jenifer L. Armentrout/ J. Lynn. Some people refuse to believe we are actually
different people but we are.
Fan: Gracias por aclararnos tus nombres. Así que
eres Jennifer Armentrout/J. Lynn y NO Jennifer Armintrout/Jenny Trout/Abigail
Barnette. El mundo de los nombres de los autores es muy confuso!
JLA: jaja, está bien. Sí. Soy Jennifer L.
Armentrout/J.Lynn. Algunas personas se niegan a creer que somos personas
diferentes, pero lo somos.
Fan: will do any a reference to Divergent and The Mortal
Instruments. I love it when the characters in your books talk about sagas we
know.
JLA: Probably not. At least I
have no plans to right at the moment.
Fan: ¿Harás alguna referencia a Divergente o a Los
Instrumentos Mortales (Cazadores de Sombras)? Me encanta cuando los personajes
de tus libros hablan sobre sagas que conocemos.
JLA: Probablemente no. Al menos no tengo planes
para ello de momento.
Fan: Are you by any means inspired by the Vampire Academy
series by Richelle Mead?
JLA: Not at all. I didn’t read
it until after my editor compared HB to VA and Percy Jackson. I still haven’t
read the Percy Jackson book, but I have seen the movie. Not sure if that
counts.
Fan: ¿Te has inspirado de alguna manera en la saga
Vampire Academy de Richelle Mead?
JLA: De ninguna manera. No lo leí hasta que mi
editor comparó HB con VA y Percy Jackson. Aún no he leído Percy Jackson, pero
he visto la película. No estoy segura de si ello cuenta.
Fan: Will there be another book with Cam and Avery?
JLA: Not at this time, but you
see them in every book after WFY.
Fan: ¿Habrá otro libro de Cam y Avery?
JLA: No en este momento, pero les veréis en cada
libro que salga después de WFY.
Fan: Do any of your characters have middle names?
JLA: I guess they do, but I’ve
never came up with any. LOL.
Fan: ¿Alguno de tus personajes tiene segundo
nombre?
JLA: supongo que los tienen, pero nunca los he
pensado. LOL.
Fan: If you had to choose between writing as Jennifer
Armentrout and J. Lynn could you choose one over the other?
JLA: I’d write as Jennifer L.
Armentrout. It’s something my agent and I have already discssed, weening out
the J. Lynn name since both are used on the covers.
Fan: Si tuvieras que elegir entre escribir como
Jennifer Armentrout y J. Lynn, eligirías una sobre la otra?
JLA: Escribiría como Jennifer L. Armentrout. Es
algo que mi agente y yo ya hemos discutido, abandonar el nombre de J. Lynn dado
que ambos nombres aparecen en las portadas.
Fan: If you could change anything from any of your
characters, what would you change?
JLA: I try not to think about
that because there is always something you want to change about a character or
a story, but it’s too late to make those changes. It would drive you a little
cray cray to think about it.
Fan: Si pudieras cambiar cualquier cosa sobre
alguno de tus personajes, ¿qué cambiarías?
JLA: Intento no pensar en ello porque siempre hay
algo que querría cambiar sobre un personaje o la historia, pero es muy tarde
para hacer esos cambios. Te volverías un poco loca al pensarlo.
Fan: I really need an HONEST answer.. are you by any means
inspired by VAMPIRE ACADEMY SERIES by RICHELLE MEAD?
JLA:I’m not really sure at how
to respond to that. There are many books w/ similar themes/tropes etc that end
up branching out into something totally different. HB was written back in
2007/2008 and to be honest, I wasn’t even reading a lot of YA books at that
time. Like another author stated recently, it may be hard to believe, but not
everyone has read the same books. Like I’ haven’t even read Hunger Games yet.
Ultimately, I can only answer the question honestly and that’s all that I can
do.
Fan: Realmente necesito una respuesta honesta…¿Te
has inspirado de alguna manera en la saga Vampire Academy de Richelle Mead?
JLA: No estoy segura de cómo responder a eso. Hay
muchos libros con argumentos similares etc., que acaban siendo totalmente
diferentes. HB fue escrito entre 2007/2008 y siendo honesta, no leía mucho de
género YA en aquél momento. Como otra escritora ha dicho recientemente, puede
ser difícil de creer, pero no todo el mundo lee los mismos libros. Por ejemplo,
aún no he leído Los juegos del Hambre. Últimamente, sólo puedo responder a la
pregunta honestamente y eso es lo único que puedo hacer.
Fan: What do you do when you read a really sad book and you
can’t help but cry? How do you assure yourself that its okay?
JLA: I try to avoid really sad
books. LOL. I’m an emotional reader, so I don’t like to be rocking in the
corner after finishing a book.
Fan: ¿Qué haces cuando lees un libro triste y no
puedes evitar llorar? ¿Cómo te convences de que no pasa nada?
JLA: Intento evitar los libros tristes. LOL. Soy
una lectora muy emocional, por lo que no me gusta acabar en un rincón después
de haber terminado un libro.
Fan: How do
you separate imagination from reality?
JLA: Since I get to work with
my imagination all day long, I don’t get to separate it.
Fan: ¿Cómo separas la imaginación de la realidad?
JLA: Dado que tengo que trabajar todos los días
con mi imaginación, no la separo.
Fan: Do you ever get bored with all your this fan
attention?
JLA: Nope. I love interacting
with people. Writing can be so lonely, that it’s great to chat.
Fan: ¿Alguna vez te cansas de toda la atención de
tus fans?
JLA: Nope. Me encanta interactuar con la gente. Escribir puede ser muy solitario, así que es

Fan: Will you be done with the Wait for You universe after
Stay with me or might you consider further stories in that world either with
different characters or revisiting the same characters?
JLA: I think after Stay with
Me, I’ll be done, because I have other ideas that won’t fit in that universe
very neatly.

Fan: If you had to choose just one of your books as a
favorite – could you, and what would it be?
JLA: I would pick Wait for You.
Fan: Si tuvieras que elegir entre uno de tus
libros como tu favorito, ¿podrías hacerlo? ¿Y cuál sería?
JLA: Elegiría Wait For You.
Fan: What other books or series of books do you enjoy
reading?
JLA: I’m a big fan of Black
Dagger Brotherhood, Sould Screamers, Deamon Trappers Daughter, Torn trilogy,
Sweet Evil …
Fan: ¿Qué otros libros o series de libros te gusta
leer?
JLA: Soy una gran fan de la saga de La Hermandad

Fan: I hope to read more NA Contemporary from you as I
think you have a really individual talent that stands out in that category.
JLA: Aw thank you! I do have
another idea that is NA contemporary that would involve a lot of action and
what not. Very excited about that.
Fan: Espero leer más libros tuyos de género NA
contemporáneo, ya que creo que tienes un talento especial que destaca en esa
categoría.
JLA: Aw, gracias! Tengo otra idea que es de género
NA contemporáneo, que incluye mucha acción y mucho más. Estoy muy entusiasmada
con ello.
Fan: With so many different series of books going at a
time, do you find it difficult to go from book to book?
JLA: It’s not too hard for me.
I only work on one book at a time, and I always space them out so I’m working
on paranormal/fantasy, then contemporary, then paranormal, so I don’t get
burned out on any of them.
Fan: Con tantas series de libros saliendo a la
vez, ¿Encuentras dificultades en ir de un libro a otro libro?
JLA: No es muy difícil para mí. Sólo trabajo en un
libro cada vez, e intento espaciarlos, por lo que trabajo en paranormal/fantasía,
después contemporáneo, después paranormal y así no me quemo con ninguno de
ellos.
Fan: What inspired you to write Wait for You?
JLA: I’m not sure what inspired
me. I’m rarely ever inspired by one thing in particula. Sometimes I hear
something or see something that spawns an idea, but I was actually taking a
shower when I came up with the idea for Wait for You. It was really random.
Sort of just popped in.
Fan: ¿Qué te inspiró para escribir Wait For You?
JLA: No estoy segura de lo que me inspiró.
Raramente me inspira una cosa en particular. A veces escucho algo o veo algo
que me da la igea, pero estaba dándome una ducha cuando me vino la idea de Wait
For You. Fue muy al azar. Simplemente surgió.
Fan: Will we ever find out why Deacon is nervous around
Apollo?
JLA: You get a very big
clue/hint to why in Sentinel.
Fan: ¿Sabremos alguna vez por qué Deacon está tan
nervioso cuando Apollo está cerca?
JLA: Encontrarás una gran pista de por qué en
Sentinel.
