A continuación, como lo prometido es deuda, os dejo la primera parte de la segunda parte -valga la redundancia- de las preguntas que respondió Jennifer L. Armentrout hace algunos meses y que The Luxen Army tuvieron el detalle de reunir.
Hoy, os traigo parte de esas preguntas TRADUCIDAS. Que las disfrutéis.
Fan: When you read, do you limit yourself to the genres you
write, or do you read a range?
Jennifer L. Armentrout:
Actually, when I’m writing YA, I don’t read YA. When I’m writing NA, I don’t
read NA. I limit myself to the genre I’m currently working on. So when I’m
writing Adult, I’m usually reading YA and so on.
Fan: Cuando lees, ¿te limitas a leer los géneros que tú
escribes, o lees diversos?
JLA: Realmente, cuando estoy escribiendo YA, no leo YA. Cuando estoy
escribiendo NA, no leo NA. Me limito al género en el que estoy
trabajando. Por lo que, cuando estoy escribiendo para Adultos, normalmente leo YA y otras cosas.
Fan:What happened with the release date for Tempting the
Bodyguard? I had always read that it was coming out in November of 2013, but I
looked today and see that it now says May of 2014. You’ve mentioned before that
the book is finished, I guess I just don’t understand why it isn’t coming out
on schedule! I imagine that it’s because of the publishing company and if
that’s the case who do I call? I’ve been waiting for the third installment for
forever!
JLA: 1. The publisher pushed it
back. I finished writing the book a long time ago, but it still has to go
through editing and all that jazz. There’s nothing that can be done about it.
Sometimes these things happen.
Fan: ¿Qué ha pasado con la fecha de lanzamiento de
Tempting the bodyguard? Tenía entendido que iba a salir en Noviembre del 2013,
pero he mirado hoy y he visto que va a salir en Mayo del 2014. Has mencionado
que el libro está terminado, supongo que no entiendo por qué no ha salido según
lo planeado! Imagino que es por decisión de la editorial, y si es así, ¿A quién
tengo que llamar? Llevo
esperando una eternidad al tercer libro!
JLA: 1. El editor lo retrasó. Terminé de escribir el
libro hace tiempo, pero aun así ha tenido que pasar por edición y todo lo que
conlleva. No se puede hacer más. A veces estas cosas pasan.
Fan: Which book of yours did you complete in the shortest
time frame and which book of yours did you complete in the longest time frame?
JLA: Obsidian was the quickest.
I wrote that in 7 days.
Fan: ¿Cuál libro es el que menos tiempo has tardado en escribir y cuál el
que más?
JLA: Obsidian fue el más rápido. Lo escribí en 7 días.
Fan: Have you read the Vampire Academy series before you
wrote the Covenant series?
JLA: Nope.
Fan: ¿Habías leído la saga Vampire Academy antes de escribir la saga
Covenant?
JLA: Nop.
Fan:Who’s the main male character in Dark Elements? Which
previous character is he most like?
JLA: One is like Aiden and the
other is like Daemon. Roth (the character in White Hot Kiss) is who I actually
based Daemon on. I wrote WHK before Obsidian.
Fan: ¿Quién es el personaje principal de la saga
Dark Elements? De los personajes anteriores, ¿A quién se parece más?
JLA: Uno se parece a Aiden y otro se parece a
Daemon. Roth (el personaje de White Hot Kiss) es en quien se basó Daemon, en

Fan: what do you do to keep organized when writing
different books and series at the same time?
JLA: I actually do not work on
more than one book at a time. Or do edits while working on another book. I also
will work on contemporary and then paranormal. I switch them.
Fan: ¿Qué haces para organizarte cuando estás
escribiendo libros distintos y series al mismo momento?
JLA: No trabajo en más de un libro a la vez. Ni
edito cuando estoy trabajando en otro libro. Seguiré trabajando en el género
contemporáneo y después en el paranormal. Los voy turnando.
Fan: Since you are a writer, how do you know that your
writing is good?
JLA: Usually I think my writing
sucks. Not sure if that’s normal for authors, but I think most of us think we
suck. LOL.
Fan: Dado que eres escritora, ¿Cómo sabes que tu
estilo narrativo es bueno?
JLA: Normalmente pienso que mi forma de escribir

Fan: Do you read books from the same genres that you have
books in?
JLA: Not while I’m writing the
said book.

Fan: Since all your plots are so different, how do you come
up with them?
JLA: Overactive imagination.
Fan: Dado que tus argumentos siempre son tan

Fan: Do you know what you are going to write before you
write it or do you come up with it as you write?
JLA: I know the general idea of
the book, but most of it I come up with as I’m writing.
Fan: ¿Sabes lo que vas a escribir antes de
escribirlo o te viene la idea según estás escribiendo?
JLA: Normalmente sé la idea general del libro,
pero la mayor parte surge mientras escribo.
Fan: How do you feel about killing off the main characters?
JLA: I really don’t have any
problems doing it. LOL.
Fan: ¿Cómo te sientes con respect a matar a los
protagonistas principales?
JLA: No tengo ningún problema con hacerlo. LOL
Fan: How do you come up with the personalities of the
characters in the books? their names?
JLA: Their names for the most
part all have Greek meanings behind them. Like Alexandria means “Defender of
Man.” So that’s where the names came from.
Fan: ¿Cómo surgieron las personalidades de los
personajes en los libros? ¿Y sus nombres?
JLA: La mayoría de sus nombres tienen un
significado en Griego. Como Alexandria que significa “Defensora del hombre” Así

Fan: Do you intend to write a
spin-off of Covenant Series or perhaps start a season 2?
JLA: LOL Season 2.

JLA: LOL Una segunda temporada.
Fan: How did you feel for the Covenant Series being adapted
as a TV series while Lux Series as a movie?
JLA: I am so, so excited. Even
if it all falls apart, it’s been a cool ride so far.
Fan: ¿Cómo te sientes al saber que la saga

Fan: What keeps you motivated? What drives you throughout
the writing and how did you manage to piece all bits of the story into a
wonderful book?
JLA: Honestly, as cheesy as it
sounds, the readers keep me motivatd. There are days where I want to be lazy
and write lazy, but I think of the readers and that helps keep me going. Yes. I
do have a notebook, but I lost my favorite pen. Le sigh.
Fan: ¿Qué es lo que te mantiene motivada? ¿Qué es
lo que te impulsa a seguir escribiendo y cómo haces para que las piezas de una
historia acaben formando un libro maravilloso?
JLA: Honestamente, aunque suene muy cursi, los
lectores son los que me mantienen motivada. Hay días en los que quiero vaguear
y escribir vagamente, pero pienso en los lectores y eso me ayuda a seguir
adelante. Sí. Tengo un cuaderno, pero he perdido mi bolígrafo favorito. Suspira.
Fans: I remember a while ago on your blog you posted some
chapters of a book you said you started writing in 2011, but stopped to write
the Lux series. I’m pretty sure you called it Sebastian. I haven’t been able to
get those characters out of my head. Are you planning on revisiting it?
JLA: I really would love to
once I get all the books I’m contracted to write out of the way.
Fan: Recuerdo que hace tiempo publicaste en tu
blog algunos capítulos de un libro que dijiste haber empezado a escribir en
2011, pero que paraste de escribir para escribir la saga Lux. Estoy
prácticamente segura de que lo llamaste Sebastian. No he sido capaz de
sacarme esos capítulos de la cabeza. ¿Tienes planeado recuperarlos?
JLA: Me encantaría hacerlo una vez que termine con
los libros que ahora mismo tengo contratados.
Fan:do you think they guys like them [Daemon and Aiden]
could exist?
JLA: I think guys like that
exist. Somewhere in the world. LOL.
Fan: ¿Crees que chicos como ellos – Daemon y Aiden
– pueden existir?
JLA: Creo que existen chicos así. En algún lugar
del mundo. LOL.
Fan: Do you ever have any doubts about where you’re going
to take the plot of a story? How do you deal with that?
JLA: We always have doubts
right up until the book is published and still have doubts.
Fan: ¿Alguna vez tienes dudas de hacia dónde

JLA: Siempre tenemos dudas hasta que el libro es

Fan: When you write books, how many pages do you averagely
write daily?
JLA: Probably between 15-20,
depending on if there’s a lot of dialogue.

Fan: What is your favorite part of the book? (Trust in Me)
JLA: The first time Cam calls

Fan: Do you have a favorite genre you perfer to write?
JLA: anything romance.
Fan: ¿Tienes algún género favorito a la hora de
escribir?

Fan: Is there any chance that you will come to Venezuela
next year?
JLA: Probably not. Next year is
already pretty booked.
Fan: ¿Alguna posibilidad de que vengas a Venezuela
el año que viene?
JLA: probablemente no. El año que viene ya está
bastante lleno.
Fan: Have you thought about putting
Obsession and Shadows in paperback?
JLA: That’s up to the
publishers. I ave no control over that.
Fan: ¿Has pensado en sacar Obsession y Shadows en
papel?
JLA: Eso depende de los editores. No tengo ningún
control sobre ello.
Fan: Is Pepe on the cover of Opposition?
JLA: Yes.
Fan: ¿Pepé saldrá en la cubierta de Opposition?

Fan: Who was your favorite teacher and why?
JLA: I’m going to have to go
with Pr. Phillips in college. I didn’t have a lot of interactive teachers in
high school and such. French fries all the way.
Fan: ¿Cuál fue tu professor favorito y por qué?
JLA: voy a decir que fue Pr. Phillips, en la universidad.
No tuve muchos profesores interactivos en el instituto y eso.
Fan: Where you an indie author before you became a
published author?
JLA: I was published through a
small press first.
Fan: ¿Fuiste autor indie antes de convertirte en

Fan: Did you have any trouble getting your publisher to
agree to allowing you to write in different genres?
JLA: Not so far. They’ve pretty
much have been on board for whatever I wanted to write.
